How to Choose a PPF Installer
A few questions worth asking any shop — including us — before you hand over your car and $8,000 – $10,000. PPF gets sealed to your paint for ten years. It’s worth ten minutes of due diligence.
1. Ask to see a car they corrected — outside, in the sun. PPF is clear, so it locks in whatever’s underneath: swirls, buffer trails, holograms and all. The finish under the film matters as much as the film. Sunlight is where a real correction and a rushed one stop looking the same. If a shop can’t show you their paint work, ask why.
2. Ask how they handle edges and corners. Edge lifting is the number-one thing that goes wrong with PPF. Look for patterns expanded and wrapped to the vehicle wherever possible – not film trimmed short and left to peel. Fully wrapped edges are harder and slower to do, which is exactly why they get skipped.
3. Ask how they cut the film. Film cut on a plotter to your exact vehicle keeps blades away from your paint. A blade line cut into your factory paint is the one mistake you can never undo – so ask where the cutting happens: on a machine, or on your car?
4. Ask what they remove — and what they don’t. There’s a right amount of disassembly: enough to tuck edges cleanly, not so much your panels come back misaligned. Handles and emblems off means fewer seams and a true one-piece look. Ask how they get clean edges without leaving your car fitting worse than it arrived.
5. Ask who backs the warranty, and what it actually covers. A ten-year warranty is only as good as the film and the installer behind it. Ask the brand, the term, and what’s covered – delamination, yellowing, cracking – and get it in writing.
And if one quote comes in a lot lower for “the same thing” — treat it as a question, not a discount. Ask what’s different, and ask to see it. Work done to this standard costs what it costs. If someone offers the same for far less, something you can’t see is getting cut — and with PPF, you won’t find out which for years.
One more honest thing: if a shop tells you your paint needs correction first, or that you don’t need full-body coverage for the way you actually drive — that’s not them lacking confidence. That’s them protecting you instead of the sale. PPF is incredible protection. It isn’t magic, and it shouldn’t be sold like it is.

PPF vs. Vinyl
Why we choose colored PPF over Vinyl.
The first thing to remember is the added benefits of being a full blown Paint Protection Film. With a colored PPF, in contrast to vinyl, you get the best of both worlds. You can now change the color of your vehicle, in order to look just like paint, with no added orange peel texture. At 8 mils thick, a color change protection film is twice as thick, compared to vinyl wraps, and will protect from rock chips, scratches, and carry a 10 or 12 YEAR WARRANTY against any delaminating or cracking.

What are the differences between colored PPF and a vinyl wrap?
A quality PPF (TPU-based, paint protection film) will protect against rock chips and scratches, and has a self-healing, and hydrophobic top-coat. Vinyl (mostly PVC-based, cosmetic films) tears and punctures very easily compared to PPF, and Vinyl does not stop rock chips, or scratches, in any meaningful way.
