We started this business because we couldn’t find anyone doing it right.

In 2018, I bought a brand new GMC Sierra 2500 Denali HD. Growing up in agriculture around Gridley, I’d always been around dirty environments — dusty fields, heavy equipment, working trucks that took a beating and needed to be maintained. Keeping vehicles clean and protected wasn’t a hobby for me, it was just part of life.

But when I started researching what was actually available to protect a vehicle properly, I kept running into the same problem. Waxes wore off in weeks. Sealants didn’t last much longer. Dealerships had quietly stopped offering real protection services. The products that actually worked — multi-year ceramic coatings, professional paint correction, true paint protection film — were either unavailable locally or being done poorly.

So I learned to do it myself. I applied a ceramic coating to our truck, and the performance was unlike anything a wax or sealant had ever delivered. That was the moment everything clicked.

I was still working in construction at the time, and I started to notice something about our area. The Northern Sacramento Valley — Yuba City, Marysville, Gridley, the surrounding communities — is full of people who take real pride in their vehicles. Agricultural families, contractors, business owners, people who work hard and invest in quality equipment. And yet nobody around was offering the level of protection and care these vehicles deserved. Paint was failing prematurely. People were spending money at automated car washes that were quietly scratching their paint every single week. The bar was low, and it didn’t need to be.

In 2021, Mollie and I launched Purity Auto Hygienics with a clear purpose: to set a new standard for vehicle care in our community. To give people access to professional-grade protection services that preserve the life of their vehicle, protect their investment, and genuinely make a difference in long-term resale value.
