Getting your vehicle professionally detailed can vary from around $100-$150 for a regular maintenance interior service, to around $300 to $450 for a “standard” professional detail inside and out. This generally includes a wax or sealant you can expect to last up to a couple months.
Always make sure you are comparing “apples to apples” when comparing prices and services… Pricing will always vary, based on vehicle size, complexity, and condition at the time of your service. Also, take note of the “level of detail” and the level of surface protection that is included with each service. Professional detailers will carry quality insurance to cover any potential damages or issues that could possibly arise… Premium tooling, professional products, experience, and skill sets all cost time and money to acquire. What this means to you, is a well maintained, “like-new”, vehicle you can love and enjoy.
If maximizing your vehicle’s resale value is important to you, auto detailing is a great investment. The process addresses concerns far beyond that which a normal car wash does. Everything, from the door jambs, to the weather stripping, and between the seats, is cared for. A detail includes removal of embedded iron contamination, and other industrial fallout (ie, brake dust etc.), that will not come off in a normal wash. If not cared for, these embedded contaminants can work their way through the paint and cause the clear coat to fail prematurely.
Failing paint, including aftermarket paint jobs, can be very detrimental to the vehicle’s resale value. Regular professional detailing will maximize your resale value by keeping your vehicle in excellent condition. Most are prepared to pay more for a well maintained vehicle.
Every vehicle is a bit different, just like their owner. Depending on how often the vehicle is used and what you use the vehicle for, it may be worth it to have your vehicle serviced more or less frequently. When protected, and maintained properly from the start, a maintenance detail every two or three months, while “maintaining the detail” with a weekly wash, and a quick vacuum twice a month or so, can keep your vehicle in great shape year round. The longer dirt and grime is allowed to build up, the more costly a professional detail will be to restore the vehicle’s condition.
